MET-STER, some kind of sportster,
dedicated to Metallica !!

Right before the Metallica Concert in Amsterdam (21/06/2004) I was allowed Backstage with my Metster,
All 4 bandmembers inspected the bike and signed it as finishing touch.
DREAMS CAN COME TRUE !!!
Metallica Fan 4 Life.

Jump in the fire: Metallica played it at Werchter 2004 before playing Seek&Destroy, I got so excited that
i almost jumped in the fire the next Weekend at a Bike Show.

These guys did a special effort for a chromed front wheel on the Met-Ster to give it an extra touch for the Rat's Hole show. The first idea was a Metallica star wheel, but we didn't have enough time. They're among the very few who make 1-off wheels at a reasonable price.
I 'm sure that we'll see more of their work soon in Europe too.

Never ending detailing (so it seems)

Thge idea originates from the Fat4Aces, HBS tattoo-Pipes.
I also added some tattoos on the Met-Ster's pipes.

Ofcourse I chose Ninja-stars to honor Metallica.

Still busy doing the little details.

The Met-Ster is not built just for Show.
It also rides through Mud :-)

Thanks to Vehicle registration.

We modified the transmission pulley cover that came
with the wide tyre kit.
It wasn't finished as it should've been. So hence the flames
and Metallica star got sand-blasted on there.

Finally i decided to keep the front brake stock HD, just to
prove that it does work and looks good polished.
You just need good pads and brake line.

Who still dares to say a Sporty is a typical woman's bike.
Have you finished downpayments on your fat-Boy ??
Do you have the Balls to trade your Jap Crap for the real thing ?

The Sportster is the ultimate affordable Harley Powered Custom you've been looking for.
In this case based on a 1989 1200 4-speed.

We'll prove the above statement.
At least I hope you agree.

Not everybody has a budget of 30.000 + $.
The estimated total price of the Metster was around
23.000 €.

It'll be a showbike that people will actually see riding around
instead of the often seen trailering.

21" front wiel by RC Components, softail front fork with Pro-One lower legs and +4° Magnum
wide glide.

But most explicit SUPER FAT !!!

230 rear tyre with wheel in center of frame.

No offset, so no 'oh shit I can't turn' problems on this bike.

Although,

We do need an offset for running that 230 tyre.
We trust on a Drag Race style offset sprocket with
external bearing support to keep the mainshaft from flexing
when you decide to let the 1200cc's to perform Buell style.

See ya at the stoplights, wait for the green light,
and then WFO !!!

Put a 230 rear tyre in a stock Sporty frame,
yeah right !!

No go !!!

So you break out the old die grinder and go for it.

Cut it to pieces.

Then you try to find a solution and make the
needed pieces to make it all fit.
And look good !

Luckyly I know some guys who know how to weld
and help me out.

So it doesn't just look professional,
it's also done professional.

There we go, doesn't this look a bit better than stock ??

It took us months and lots of headake to get to this point,
and it still ain't done.

With a lot of help from my friends the bike was finished
Saturday morning at 2am, the weekend of the annual
Open House.
Saturday evening we already rode a 180 km run.

2 weeks earlier a just had the frame sitting on the bench
and all the preparation for the open House also
had to be done.
It was a Hell of a Week.
